Ashley Palenkas...Sacrificial Lamb

This is the local ABC station (WXYZ Detroit) interview with Ashley Palenkas. Gotta say, the girl cleans up very well. Ashley explains the "50 Shades of Grey" personna started with the filming of her hometown "bio".
The producers saw her copy of the book, asked her about it, and then said..."Let's go with that". Some other things to note:

-"At the end, I was definitely drunk...the last closing interview was 10 hours into filming." (Hey I thought I noticed the sun coming up!)
-"The 1-on-1 time, alone with Sean, I was extremely nervous and I couldn't remember what I was supposed to say...or going to say." There is a voice over by the interviewer, "Wait a minute, were her lines scripted?".
-She says she was herself, but it was "definitely edited to make it that extreme". (I believe that...10 hours of filming edited to make it look like 5 minutes)

So....this is a sticky wicket now, isn't it? Time and time again, the producers, in particular, Mike Fleiss, have trumpeted the "reality" nature of the show. They will say, it's "unscripted". Well maybe there isn't a paper script, but there is heavy direction. And with "10 hours of shooting", you really have to wonder how many retakes there were. The contestants are under non-disclosure contracts, but here we have ABC's own affiliate airing this. So what are they going to do, sue themselves? Definite proof that there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Just one more thing I would like to add in Ashley's defense. The liquor flows during this "cocktail party" like a river....more like Niagara Falls. Ashley was still tanked after 10 hours of shooting. Ten hours! ABC, shame on you. If you don't control excessive drinking, then it just amounts to encouraging it. Just to get some contestants to behave in ways to gain ratings. For some reason, I noticed this season ABC was really sloppy with the filming. In a lot of scenes, you could see the filming crew and handlers walking around in the background. Really sloppy. There was one scene with Ashley doing that booty shake with one foot on the counter....it was filmed from the adjacent room. I peed myself laughing but later started to wonder if there might not have been someone around the corner, egging her on. Am I overly suspicious? Nope. I watched it several times. Now I'm finding it kinda creepy.

This isn't the first time we have seen this, but you have to ask why this extreme in this season? Oh wait...Sean is the religious, family-oriented Bachelor. They are really playing up this good guy image...and we are all going to fall for it. Do you ever notice how they set some of these girls up to fail, like a lamb to the slaughter? More like that little lamb they put out for the T-Rex in Jurassic Park.
