Big Brother Canada Week 10 - Recap of Episode 28, Wednesday May 1, 2013: Bad Math Teacher
Arisa starts the show off by informing us there is no studio audience and everything is Top Secret. Of course it is. Slice stopped airing After Dark and cut the live feeds early Sunday afternoon. Arisa appears on the house's TV screen and the HGs are asked to gather in the living room. For once, Talla doesn't scream. Instead she yells "Oh my God!" Well Talla, let me explain. It's Sunday...the show ends in four days...there are four of you left. Did you think this was just another week and the eviction wasn't until Thursday? Nope. Things are going to start happening quickly.
Talla gets to the living room first and sits on one couch. Emmett, Jillian and Gary are sitting on the other couch. Hmm. Looks like a bit of foreshadowing to me. Arisa says, "House guests...things are about to change. Tonight, someone will be evicted."
But, of course, we have to get caught up with what has been happening in the house. Talla thinks she has a F2 deal with Emmett, along with the F2 she has with Jillian. Gary thinks he has a F2 deal with Emmett. Emmett has a F2 deal with each of the other three. Only Jillian and Gary don't have a F2 agreement - that we know of. Emmett lets it slip to Jillian that Talla has a deal with him. So now Jillian is upset. Emmett is keeping secrets from her. I guess the honeymoon is over Jillian. Give me a break. You are playing for a prize...you're not there to find a husband. Remember Jillian, this is Big Brother, not Bachelor Pad.
The POV comp is called "Safe from Eviction". The HGs have to solve 3 equations on a blackboard, based on events that happened in the house. Each solution is part of the combination to the safe that holds the POV necklace. Sounds simple right? Jillian should have this one in the bag, and of course she tells us math is her subject. Not just that, but because she's a teacher, she's used to using blackboards and stuff. Duh. Well, not as easy as you would think. First of all, the clues to each number were preposterous. These HGs must write everything down in diaries and memorize it all, because there is no way someone would remember these things. But the funniest part was the second equation, 50 - 11. Both Emmett and Jillian misread the minus sign and thought it was addition. Nerves I guess. Then, Jillian - the math teacher, answered 38. Okay. She can't even claim that she threw the comp. No she was trying to win because she wanted to save Talla.
Maybe Jillian should rethink her career choice. When she first hooked up with Emmett, started dry humping him and then let it progress to all out monkey sex, I thought she would have a difficult time holding down a teaching position. Don't be fooled...it might be 2013, but the parents are still going to complain and gossip like it's 1962. But any good union will save her from termination. Now this. She's never going to live this down. She'd be lucky if she doesn't see a giant 50 - 11 = 38 sprawled on the blackboard the next time she walks into a classroom. Anyway, it's Emmett who snaps out of the stupid zone first and wins the over-sized lucite V necklace.
Everyone scrambles for position. Talla talks with Jillian, sounding assured that Emmett will vote out Gary and she will be in the F3. Jillian backs out of the situation. Talla must have known something was up. She only flashed a smile when Jillian looked at her. You know, one of those phoney, kind of awkward smiles? The kind that makes you cringe? Yeah, one of those. Emmett has to warn Talla that he is voting her out because he wants to get her jury vote. She's pissed. She starts packing.
Meanwhile Jillian is getting upset about this. She wonders why Emmett insists on telling Talla, when last week, Emmett wouldn't let her warn Andrew about his eviction. She is starting to think that Emmett is just in this for himself. Holy shit! Here we go again. Jillian...it's a frigging game. To win money and a car and furniture.
But of course there is a possibility this reaction from Jillian could all be producer-driven. It wouldn't be the first time that producers have asked leading questions in the Diary Room confessions just to garner a certain response. Or they could have used some creative editing to set up a dramatic situation. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow night.
Emmett tries to smooth things over with Talla. He gives her a bracelet that Dan Gheesling left. Talla gives Emmett the most gullible look you could possibly imagine, like a lamb on her way to slaughter. Holy crap, I am actually starting to feel sorry for her. Oh well. When the Eviction ceremony comes around, both Talla and Gary give their plea speeches. Talla's actually made sense. Emmett decides not to use the POV, and he chooses to evict Talla. Talla leaves without incident surprisingly enough. Poor girl didn't even get a live studio audience. Just Arisa sitting there. Arisa questions Talla about her talk with Jillian and "playing dumb" about the F3 agreement...as if it was Talla's strategy. Sorry. Not convinced. There is no way I am going to believe her lack of intelligence was just an act.
Arisa ends the episode reminding us that Thursday is the special 2 hour season finale. Yeah I think we know.

Big Brother Canada Recap of Episode 27 Sunday April 29, 2013
We left off last Thursday
after the first question in the HOH Competition. It was kind of a
random break. Seeing how the so-called "live eviction" isn't really
live, you would think they could have timed the whole thing better. Oh
well. The comp came down to a tiebreaker, and of course Jillian won.
Great. This is just getting ridiculous. And boring.
Talla is a bit upset she didn't win HOH. Jillian tries her best to explain how HOH this week doesn't really matter - winning POV is perhaps more important. The nitwit doesn't get it.
But Emmett certainly does. He also knows that it doesn't even matter who is nominated. He realizes that he is the least desirable person right now to bring into any F3 scenario. He thinks they will all try to target him, but then again, they all should have gotten rid of him long ago.
Then the cry goes out, "Who wants to see my HOH room?" Apparently no one...Including Emmett. Been there done that. In more ways than one. Jillian confesses in the diary room that she knows it's all boring and annoying to everyone. So why does she jump around and act all excited about it? Obviously she just wants to rub everyone's noses in it.
They find a rack of fancy clothes in the Haves bedroom. Talla screams. Apparently they will be the stars of the Bib Brother Awards. Talla screams. They all get ready to the occasional scream from Talla. If I were an HG in that house, those unrelenting screams and screeches would turn me into a nervous wreck. I really think the girl needs to see a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist. Perhaps she needs a few sessions of electric shock therapy. Every time she lets go of a scream...zap!!! Maybe just one of those collars for dogs to stop barking. That might work.
They all get the red carpet treatment, along with the opportunity to strike a pose. Talla ended up looking like a Bratz doll. Jillian looked...meh. Gary looked like, well, Gary. Maybe with a bit more shimmer to his glitter. But Emmett? Now there was a real transformation. Yowza!!! Not too shabby, Emmett!!! Is this guy really a farmer?
They all sit down at a table, like they are at the Oscars only there is no host, guests or fancy dance numbers. They go through a series of nominations and then announce the winner in each category. Then there was even a tribute to the people that were lost. A lovely montage of people that Jillian lied to. Nice. Everyone is having a great time, talking about everything that happened during the season, when Talla's yammering is cut off by Emmett. She gets all hissy about it and goes inside to toss things around and jump on the Bi-Polar Express. Emmett doesn't want to make any enemies, so he follows her inside to calm her down and apologize.
Later on, Jillian takes a moment with Talla to take advantage of the situation. Jillian re-enforces their F2 agreement. Wait a minute. I thought Jillian was planning an F2 with Andrew? Anyway, Jillian is playing Talla. And Talla is buying it. Jillian doesn't have to do this crap anymore. Then she starts to feel guilty and runs to Emmett. Here's the thing - Jillian is constantly lying to everyone about her alliances to other players. Then she goes into the Diary Room and tells us how different she is in real life, and how this game has turned her into a manipulating liar. Then she pulls this kind of crap. It wasn't necessary to do this to Talla - Talla's role in the game is inconsequential at this point...her part is over. So why is Jillian doing this stuff still?
We hear that line, "Part of my duties as Head of Household is to nominate 2 players for eviction." Part of her duties? I am getting kind of tired of hearing this line. And what other duties are there? She nominates Talla and Gary, even though it would have been a good time to nominate Emmett. Dan Gheesling was so right. She is playing for second place. Oh well.

Finale Week Spoilers
Yes, this is the final week of Big Brother Canada - the finale will air next Thursday, May 2! Big Brother After Dark will no longer air, and the live feeds will be cut on Sunday. However, here are a few spoilers of what went down before the feeds went out:
Jillian: It's just like Dan Gheesling said. Jillian is playing for 2nd place. Unless she pulls out some monumental speech at the end which can sway the jury, she has no chance of winning. The jury will vote emotionally and against her because she burned each of them. I hope she is in the F2 because I can't wait for the jury questions, especially from Peter, Topaz and Andrew. And the rest of them for that matter. I also can't wait for Peter to tell her "I told you so" - he reserved that right with her.
Gary: He is certainly the emotional favorite, well loved by Canada and the jury. He would win in an F2 against Jillian, even though he is a "returning player" voted back into the game. He managed to do the impossible - survive eviction and drive a wedge into the East Coast Alliance, getting Jillian and Emmett to evict Andrew. If pitted against Emmett in an F2, it may be close but he would lose.
Emmett: Unless Emmett gets completely blindsided getting into the F2, he's got this in the bag. Or unless he does something stupid and concedes it to Jillian. That is doubtful, he's no fool for love. He told Dan Gheesling he already had a plea speech prepped if he's pitted against Jillian. I want to hear that speech. My best guess is that he had Jillian wrapped around his finger. He let her win the HOHs because he didn't need to win them. He never lied to anyone and he was up front with them.
- Jillian won HOH...for the fourth time.
- Talla and Gary were nominated for eviction.
- Emmett won POV and will be the only one who votes in the eviction.
- Talla appears to be the target for Emmett.
- Talla is convinced Jillian and Emmett are taking her to the F3 and that it is Gary who will be eliminated. In the feeds, she was taking to the "dark" moose named Marge. She calls it "Henry", probably because they have never been introduced. Talla confided in Henry/Marge that Emmett eliminated Peter and Andrew for her, and she sees no reason that he won't eliminate Gary for her as well. Let's just say Talla is delusional. Peter was right when he described Talla as not knowing what game she is playing.
Big Brother Canada Recap of Week 6
Spoilers from Live Feeds
Tonight's episode was all about the Chevrolet Power Shift Instant Eviction and the ensuing ramifications in the house. Just another producer-driven method of creating drama and exposing alliances - and they even managed to have it sponsored by Chevrolet.
We start off with Arisa in the intro giving us a glimpse literally behind the scenes of the house - to remind us that this really is a stage set. It was quite interesting to see, because I have to say that the house was very nicely done. Anyway, the new HOH, Topaz, is called to the HOH room - a request that leaves everyone dumbfounded. Once she is there, all the other HGs are told to gather in the living room. Peter seems to be the only one who suspects something big is about to go down, and he's keeping his mouth shut. Topaz is told that this is an instant nomination and she has 5 minutes to nominate two HGs. So what does she do? She considers her options...by talking to herself:
...Talla - everyone wants her out.
...AJ - to be a pawn again
...Andrew - as the target, but if he wins veto, a stronger player can be substituted.
Oh wonderful....because the TV came on in the living room when Topaz went into the HOH room. At first the HGs thought it was by accident, then they all shut up when it dawned on them what was going down. Gary goes into a lockdown mode, probably afraid that Topaz will say something about their alliance or her fauxmance with Alec. Talla starts to go ballistic, but Peter gives her a "shush". Not just for her benefit. Peter is weighing the opportunities in his head...I swear he is always thinking 5 moves ahead of the game.
Topaz nominates AJ and Andrew. Then Arisa lets her know the others watched and listened to her the whole time. She must feel like crap. And just as she thought things couldn't get worse...things get worse. Arisa announces it is also an Instant Eviction. Topaz probably believes that both her alliances will side with her and vote Andrew out. Wrong. Only Gary and Talla vote for Andrew. Alec votes for AJ, wondering how he will get himself out of this one. It's 4 to 2 for AJ, and poor AJ gets booted. Gotta say, AJ took it very well in his exit interview with Arisa. We will miss his comic relief. But AJ is the first member of the jury, and revenge is a dish that is best served cold.
Meanwhile, Topaz is screwed. She tries to recover by saying she doesn't remember what she said. Plus, she still doesn't know if they heard everything or not. Peter pulls Emmett aside and they talk in whispers. He explains how screwed Topaz is. What a dummy for talking out loud to herself and not recognizing how strange the situation was this is Big Brother, after all and nothing is ever that innocent. She is out of power now plus she has alienated Andrew and Talla. Peter is in Big Brother Heaven and loving every minute of it.
Topaz runs to Alec about his vote - why he didn't vote for Andrew after overhearing who her target was. Alec plays dumb. Topaz plays dumb. Then they accuse each other of a lack of trust for what's best for their faux-mance. Alec heads off to play the jilted lover. It's become a sympathy grab, and he's trying to make Topaz out to be the bad guy in it. Andrew goes to talk to him and he is buying the act. How convenient for Alec. Andrew now believes that he has Alec's support because of the vote - that Alec stuck his neck out on that one just to save him.
Topaz's reign as HOH was short - no luxuries or theme room. It's time to move on. The HOH Competition is called "Diary Room Confessions". It's just as it's name suggests. The HGs have to guess which eliminated HG said what in their DR confession. It comes down to a tie breaker between Andrew and Talla. This is twice in a row where Talla gets to the end in these quizes. Is she maybe not as dumb as she's been acting? Nah.They had to guess, without going over, the number of yellow balls used as pollen in the Bees Knees competition. Andrew is afraid that Talla might do the Price-Is-Right-Underbid, and guess 4. So he puts in a good bid, and wins it. Looks like he'll be getting some revenge on Topaz.
But wait a second. Along with his win, he has to name four HGs as this week's Have-Nots. Choose wisely, Andrew. He starts. Umm....Emmett. That's one. Peter pipes in. He points to Topaz and says, "What about her?" Topaz is two. Then Gary is three, just because he hasn't been on slop yet. Peter volunteers as the forth. This is when Gary goes ballistic.
And that's an understatement. He starts whimpering. He starts pouting. We hear stuff like "Have you seen my size?" and "How am I supposed to do it" and something about "fading away". This is still at the HOH comp set. We get the commentary from Emmett. It's the best one-liner of the night...someone has to fill AJ's shoes. Emmett says, "He (Gary) starts bawling like we're in a grocery store and he can't have Froot Loops!!!". Yet, it was so true. Gary runs inside, locks himself in the bathroom stall, screams and cries. He's unconsolable. Several HGs run to comfort him. "I just don't know how to do it with my body type". I think it was Emmett who says, "Well, you always say you want to lose some weight, so now's your chance". Gary cries, "Now you're calling me fat!!!". Oh dear God. He throws himself down on the floor and now he's wailing. And wailing. And wailing. And although I know that the sound techs kind of amplified the wails, I am still kind of looking at the screen and left asking myself, "were we just treated to an on-air audition for The Birdcage?"
Andrew shows off his HOH room. Vampire themed. Letter from his twin brother. All boring. But it isn't long before Gary is knocking at the door for a little conversation concerning Andrew's choices for nomination. Of course, it will be Topaz, because she had the balls to target him in that B.S. of an Instant Eviction fiasco. Of course she's the target. Then he tells Gary he will be the pawn, so that he will save himself and not Topaz with a POV. He then goes on to say if he or Gary should win POV, Gary would be saved and the real target with be put up - someone with power. Gary is confused. Wasn't Topaz the target? Andrew is flip-flopping on this. Gary says he expected more from Andrew. He expected Andrew to be stronger and really shake things up. Oh. But wait...
Yeah here it is. Andrew. In the Diary room. Psst...the real target? Gary.
Recap of Episode 16 Wednesday, April 3 2013
With only 8 HGs remaining, nerves are tender and tempers are flaring. Just what you would expect by trapping people inside a house for over a month and having their every move recorded. Something's got to break somewhere.
With the Quatro now history, Emmett realizes he must ally with more than just Jillian. He needs numbers to fight off The Shield. Andrew is happy to oblige. Together they dream up the "East Coast Final 3". But they still need at least one more. Hmmn. Who can they get to help them? Perhaps if they start to show Talla they will protect her, they can have her. Meanwhile Peter is thinking the same thing. He is pretty sure that Talla is in the "pocket of the Shield". So it looks like Talla will be a key player in the next couple of weeks.
Andrew reflects on the loss of his bestie, AJ. He is out for revenge. He's so lonely without AJ that he has dinner with his picture. Talla notices, so Andrew points the picture toward her and says, "He's not listening, he's looking at your boobs".
The Power of Veto Comp is called "Build a Demon". The players are Andrew, Gary, Topaz, Alec, Peter and Talla. Jillian is the host - she's dressed a la tramp-vamp. Of course the comp is inspired by The Evil Dead, which just happens to be premiering this Friday. The players are blindfolded and tethered to a rope. They must search for body parts in a mucky pit of despair and then build a demon. Not as simple as it sounds, especially when the ropes get tangled. As Jillian yells out the play-by-play, she reflects on the competition being just like teaching - except for her slutty clothes and the body parts. What a great teacher she must be. Although Gary gives it a good try, it's Andrew who wins the large lucite V necklace. Now he's stoked. He's very happy because everyone is kissing his ass. Now he's a physical threat and a mental threat. He's just a threat, and I am sure everyone has noticed.
Along with winning the POV, Andrew wins a special advance screening of The Evil Dead and chooses Jillian and Talla to watch it with him. Talla spends the entire time screaming her ass off. So annoying. She needed a good bitch-slapping.
Once again, we hear Emmett and Andrew reflecting on this East Coast alliance. They consider Talla. Emmett thinks they can win her over if they show her they can provide protection. Right on cue, and very conveniently, we see Gary really going off on poor Talla. And of course Emmett steps in to comfort her.
More drama. Talla is still scared from the movie. Give me a break. Anyway, Alec decides to scare her by grabbing her leg. This makes Talla want to sllep with someone, even though she is in a room full of people. Makes perfect sense. So she jumps in bed with Alec. Makes perfect sense. And who walks in and sees this? Why Topaz of course. And even though Topaz claims to be over Alec, she goes off on Talla. Oh but don't worry, they patch things up. At least they pretend to.
The POV ceremony is no big surprise...Andrew does not use it. Topaz hopes for a miracle to keep both her and Gary in the house. Something tells me there will be no last minute reprieve.
Recap of Episode 17 - Thursday April 4 2013: All That Glitters
Looks like Talla is the centre of the Big Brother universe. All the HGs seem to revolve around her. Alliances will depend on it. So what does little Miss Popularity do under all this pressure? Why she gets herself wasted. Yeah there was another reward from Canada that involves booze. Have you ever noticed that when booze comes into the house, Talla is on it right away. This was perhaps the worst yet. She was all over Topaz...with kisses and even a lapdance. Holy crap. Then she tries to get in the hot tub, she falls in...right onto Andrew. Then she peed on him. Lovely. And didn't Emmett say just last night that he was going to make Talla feel protected in order to gain trust in an alliance? Well move over big guy, cos this time it's Peter to the rescue. perhaps you should have been paying attention Emmett. Anyway, Peter carried her first to the bathroom and then to the bedroom...fully aware of the advantages to helping her.
But wait a minute, there will soon be another free agent in the house. I hate to say it, but Gary is pretty much a goner. I wouldn't be overlooking Topaz just yet. This whole East Coast thing is by no means a Final Three. Got to remember that Andrew put up Topaz to avenge AJ. Now Topaz may be looking for a little revenge of her own when Gary is evicted. Alec sees this opportunity to make amends with Topaz. And it seems to work. For now. And everyone seems to agree the next HOH comp will be the most important one yet.
Ah....Family Time. We get to hear from Alec and Peter's Moms. Yeah they're great guys. And smart. And funny. Then there is the families of Emmett and Jillian. How sweet. Both families are practically doing up the guest list and planning menus for the wedding. Boring.
Unfortunately the eviction went down just as planned, and Gary was evicted 5-0. The big surprise was that he took it so well. I was kind of expecting another melt down. He protested being put on slop more than getting the boot. The best part was when he exited the house to the overwhelming cheers from the audience. Arisa told him that everyone feels like they know him...and his alter egos. We will miss you Gary Glitter!!! But I would love to know what advice he gave to Topaz....what side she should ally herself with.
The HOH Comp is called Iceberg Alley. it's an endurance challenge. They are standing on a ledge with just a handrail to stabilize themselves. Emmett of course opted out of wearing a shirt. Bad move. There is a pool of what looks like cold water in front of them. The iceberg jerks and Talla screams. Of course. Is it just me or are her screams really annoying. I am getting kind of tired of that whole act. Then cold rain and wind starts up to add a bit of difficulty to the challenge, and make Talla scream some more. But this won't end tonight, and we will have to wait until Sunday to see who wins. I will post any info derived from the live feeds if and when they come back up. Oh and one more thing...next week is another double eviction. So hold on it may be a bumpy ride.
- Andrew won POV and did not use it.
- Gary was evicted unanimously
Boring.

Big Brother Canada Recap of Week 4
Recap of Live Feeds: (Spoilers)
Recap of Episode 9: Sunday, March 17, 2013 - Big Brother Rule Number 1: Never hold your balls on national TV
With Emmett winning the HOH, the Quatro and their womenfolk are rejoicing. The only burr in Emmett's side is Liza...she's too controlling. She controls Tom. But its becoming evident that she is playing all the guys. Emmett warns Tom not to spill Quatro's beans to her. Emmett shows off his HOH room and his luxury items. His letter from home includes his Mom telling him she likes Gary, his brother saying to be careful about the showmance, and his father saying something about playing respectfully. Interesting.
Suddenly the front door opens and in pops a munchkin direct from Emerald City. Sorry, wrong cultural reference. I guess he's supposed to be a leprechaun. Saints be praised!!! Then some more people dressed in green which we are supposed to believe are Irish, including one guy who's as drunk as, well, an Irishman. Jesus Murphy, I'm offended. I am, after all one forth Irish. And what kind of Irish Jig was that? Have they never seen Riverdance? It seems to me there is a double standard going on here. I mean, Passover is coming up...why didn't they have a Rabbi parade? If it was Gay Pride Day, would they have a parade? Okay forget that one. If it was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, would they have had a parade of African Americans? Okay maybe I'm pushing it, but you see where I'm coming from? I regress.
Topaz, in a moment of self-realizing regret, points out that everyone should have been keeping track of what was going on in the parade...because this is Big Brother after all, and it will probably be part of the Have-not competition. Everyone starts reviewing the events in their wee little brains. Sure enough...
Then an announcement by Big Bro, " House guests...please go to the living room". Oh oh. What's up with that? Big Bro continues, "Four of you were caught cheating in the Bees Knees HOH competition". Yeah yeah. Hey Big Brother, we already know. Everybody knows. All of Canada knows. Even some over-zealous Big Brother American fans know. We saw it last Thursday night. Stop being so dramatic. Everyone tries to look innocent. Gary says, "They punish people for that?" Then the video evidence is shown to the HGs. The four numbskulls who cheated were Talla, Jillian, Alec and....Emmett. They are this week's Have-nots. Hah! You idiots forgot the number 1 Big Brother rule - never hold your balls in a live competition. Oh yeah there is one more little thing, Emmett is no longer HOH. There will be a new competition and the four ball-holding cheaters will not compete. Neither will Tom. Basically, Tom is screwed. He says his only hope is Liza, which as far as he knows is wrong. Remember, he thinks he still has the Quatro...what's wrong with Peter?
All this drama. But it makes me wonder, what if the HOH competition wasn't "Live"? What if it was edited? Would the production have overlooked it and allowed Emmett to remain as HOH if Canada hadn't put up such a fuss? You bet.
Sure enough the HOH Comp re-do is a trivia challenge based on that shameful so-called "Irish Parade". Suzette bolts into the lead then decides to throw the competition because she doesn't want to become a target again as HOH. So even though Topaz spilled the beans, seems the only one with enough brains is Gary. He is the new HOH and to say he's happy about it is an understatement. Actually, there is no word in existence to describe how happy Gary is. Magical blue glitter.
Poor, poor Emmett. Alone in his HOH room. Packing up his stuff. Reading that damn letter from his family. What did Dad say about respect? Shit. He's right again. Then he goes to the Have-not room and throws himself down on the bed. Cheer up, Emmett. At least Jillian is a Have-not too. So you can get a hand job under the blankets every night. Much to the dismay of their fellow roommates Talla and Alec....perhaps they can get some noise-cancelling earphones in there. Going to need them. If it was me, I would hose those two down when they started up. At least get a bucket of slop to throw on them.
Emmett and Topaz talk about Liza and what a liar she is. They have noticed Liza playing all the guys, and they think she has a secret alliance with Peter. Who comes walking in but Peter. Oh oh. They point out to Peter that Liza is playing him, so he has to cover his butt. He plays the sympathy card...Liza is just using him like all other women do. It looks like it works.
Gary LOVES his HOH room. Pink feathers and blue glitter. His letter is from his Mom and sis who tell him not to wear so much makeup. The camera zooms in on his glitter eyes. Too late, Mom! Gary takes his new found HOH leadership like the Queen rules England. He is sick of the little people getting stepped on. He really wants to shake things up. He has an audience with each of his subjects. He's taking names. Peter tells him to go after the pairs...the showmances because they are the dangerous ones.
Eviction Nomination: Gary nominates Tom and Liza. He quickly points out that he is after Liza and that Tom is just a pawn. Gary is returning the situation that Tom put him in last week. And yet, Tom is mad, because Gary promised him he wouldn't. Tom is just a hot-tempered A-hole. It will probably lead to his ruin or someone will use it to their advantage. Like Emmett, who told Gary to put up Tom. And lets not forget that this week is a double eviction. And why is it that Suzette has really dodged another bullet and come out of this mess with her ass smelling like roses?
Recap of Episode 10 Wednesday March 20, 2012 The Revenge of the Nerds
This episode was all about watching Tom and Liza squirm and Gary definitely getting his revenge. Emmett explains that Tom is a complete emotional player and that there is no strategy in his game. he tells Gary he will take the heat from Tom because he's the one who told Gary to put up Tom and Liza. Emmett wants Liza out. I'm sure Gary already had that one figured out though.
Liza tries her damnedest to suck up to Gary, "I have no hard feelings". Right. Gary more or less tells her she is gone. She loses her temper a bit but counters with telling him she had his back. Gary's diary room confession is terrific...he does an impersonation of Tom as a muscle bound ape. Priceless. And he's right.
Emmett says "Tom is on the dark side now" because he keeps protecting Liza. He asks Tom if his alliance is with him or Liza. Tom says his alliance is with Emmett 100%, but Emmett's not convinced. Then he makes a big mistake. He tells Tom that he went to Gary about putting up Tom and Liza. Tom is not happy he wasn't told about being a pawn. He's a blindsided pawn. Then Alec tries to set Tom straight by telling him he would have gone to Liza about it. He's hoping Tom won't tell Liza about the existence of The Quatro. Good luck with that.
Gary tells the HGs about Canada's vote - The Have-nots have to give pedicures to the haves. Alec gives Tom and Suzette pedicures. Gary is extremely excited about Emmett massaging his feet. He says the future Mrs. Emmett will be a very lucky woman - massages, pedicures and he's sure Emmett can really put it down.
The POV Competition is the Big Brother Bonspiel, or human curling. The six players - Gary, Tom, Liza, Alec, Jillian and AJ must use the remaining 6 HGs, sitting on blocks of ice, as curling rocks. Poor Gary, he gets Suzette as his rock. Hardly fair when Tom gets someone like Talla who weighs 96 pounds. Alec has no intention of winning, but finds he must put some effort into it to insure that Liza and Tom don't win POV. In the final round, its Alec, Tom and Gary. Alec wins. He had to since Gary couldn't or maybe wouldn't go for the win.
Oh and what's this? Alec and Peter, aka The Shield, are talking to Gary. Seems like Gary went to the guys with a perfect plan to get Tom out of the house. Alec and Pete tell Gary they will appear to be campaigning for a Liza vote. but don't worry, its all just a rouse. They give each other the "Nyah Ha Ha" evil mastermind laugh.
Of course, Alec decides not to save Tom at the POV Ceremony.
Now Tom is suspecting something's up. Maybe he's not just the blindsided pawn. Maybe he is the real target everyone is trying to blindside. He's also thinking even his own alliance is trying to get rid of him. So what is a hothead like Tom supposed to do about that? Why, he's going to make sure he screws them over good. "Karma's a bitch", he says. So, he tells Liza about Quatro. I don't think Tom understands what karma is. This is revenge...this is back-stabbing, not karma. Karma is a force that balances things out. He's not just a hothead, he's a stupid hothead. Perhaps the worst kind.
But then this week isn't just the regular eviction, it's going to be a double eviction.
Recap of Episode 11: Thursday March 21, 2013 - Fast and Furious
This episode went so fast, there was time for only one sequence of interaction between the housequests. It was a doozy. Tom is on a bit of a rampage, and is looking for what he defines as fun vengeance. He goes into the bathroom and opens the shower door on Alec in full view of the camera, of course. Alec is not amused. In fact, he's acting like an assault victim, knowing that there will be naked footage all over the internet...and although it was quick, people can always freeze frame it. Alec says Tom is a bully, and doesn't have a conscience. Topaz goes ballistic on Tom...it wasn't just a prank, it was personal because Alec didn't use his POV to save him. So you have to wonder, what the hell is wrong with this guy? Nothing like giving everyone in the house additional reasons to vote you out.
So that was that. Arisa addresses the HGs who have gathered in the living room, and tells them there is another twist - this will be the first Double Eviction. And off we go...everybody hold on.
The first eviction was really no surprise. Tom was evicted with a vote of 8 to 1 (Emmett was the only one to vote for Liza, so that tells us he was pretty much kept out of the loop or he wanted to appear to be true to his alliance). Loved the recorded goodbye from Peter, which is always amusing...."Don't worry about Liza, I'll keep her warm". Snap. I'm surprised he didn't tell Tom that he was a victim of The Shield. What a missed opportunity.
The new HOH Competition was a series of 1-on-1 questions based upon the outcomes of previous comps. Won't go into specifics, but it came down to Alec vs Andrew in the final, with Alec giving it up to Andrew.
The new HOH, Andrew, had only the commercial break to nominate two for eviction. He didn't consult anyone, but it was no surprise that Liza was nominated with Suzette as a pawn.
The POV Comp was called Kid in a Candy Store. It was between Andrew, Liza, Suzette, Peter, AJ and Emmett, and it was another memory challenge. They had to put the first five losing HGs from the Lumber Jack and Jill Comp (the 1st HOH comp) in order...but had to chew gum, race to the board on bounce balls and use the chewed gum to paste the HG's pic. Phew. A whole lot of trouble for nothing, because we just knew that unless Liza won she was going to be walking out the door. Well she didn't. Emmett won and got a chance for his own revenge. Of course he chose not to use the POV. And get this, Liza was eliminated by an unanimous 8 to 0. Yippee!!!
Once again, Peter's recorded goodbye was the best, "It's a shame you didn't choose brains over brawn, cos now your gone".
There was no time for the week 5 HOH competition. That will be shown Sunday. The live feeds are down until Friday night, presumably during the HOH competition filming. Maybe it's an endurance challenge?
- The live feeds have been on and off since Friday morning.
- Apparently Emmett cheated during Thursday's "Bees Knees" HOH competition - he carried some of the "pollen" balls in his hands, despite the V/O warning from Arisa. He was disqualified and a new HOH comp was won by Gary. Emmett was not allowed to compete.
- Liza has been "outed"...the HGs are aware of her strategy - using all the guys.
- Peter is aware of Liza's manipulation and feels like a fool.
- Nominees for Eviction are Tom and Liza
- Alec wins POV comp. Tom pressured Alec to take him off the block, but Alec chose to let the nominations stand.
- Tom is distancing himself from Liza.

Big Brother Canada Recap of Week 2
Episode 3: Sunday, March 3, 2013 - "Slop is Not Fun"
The HOH competition proves that yoga is an endurance sport. Apparently Jillian does yoga and it has paid off for her...she has "strong legs". At the end, its between her and Talla. Talla asks Jillian if she would be her target, and Jillian tells her she is safe and that "I never go back on my word". We'll see how long Jillian can keep up such high morals. Talla eliminates herself and Jillian wins HOH.
The first have-not competition, called "Batter Up", begins with Jillian dressed as a big fried egg. Pretty. The HGs divide up into groups of 4 with Suzette sitting it out. Thank God. They have to fill a giant waffle iron with batter. Do they use giant ladles? Oh no...they have to jump into a giant vat of batter and their teammates have to scrape the batter onto the griddle. I think everyone was thankful Suzette wasn't playing. Hey, maybe they thought any team with her on it would have an unfair advantage. The green team loses - Alec, Tom, Talla and Peter get to eat slop for a week and stay in the seedy motel themed Have-Not Room. Peter calls the room "magical", sarcastically of course. Talla says slop is "not fun". Thank you Miss Obvious.
Everyone starts campaigning their own strategy with Jillian about who to nominate. The major play is by Aneal - he tries to plant mistrust of Tom in Jillian's head. He tells her Tom is in a secret guy's alliance with Emmett, Peter and Alec, and that each of them "have a girl attached to them", so that they will have a majority vote. Her interest is peaked, but the guys get to her and turn the tables on Aneal. Jillian ends up nominating Gary and Aneal. She explains: Gary, because he is a very strong, social player; and Aneal because she "has learned a lot about him" and "he is the best nomination for the house".
Spoiler: Gary will win POV and save himself....Jillian will put up Danielle for the replacement nominee.
Episode 4: Wednesday March 6, 2013 - "Showmance vs. Bromance"
After the Nomination Ceremony: Gary Glitter calls Jillian a ___ bitch in the Diary Room, then looks for his veil (which is really just a flimsy sweater). He says he is going to play the game with glitter on his back. I think he has glitter on his brain. A condition that can be cured by modern medicine. Wasn't there a telethon for it? He should see a doctor. Meanwhile, Aneal is very upset. He immediately goes to Jillian after he was nominated for eviction. He starts whining and crying..."if only it was anybody else but you...wah wah...I don't even like to talk to anybody else in the house". But he tells us in the DR confession that the crying is just strategy to gain sympathy. He starts crying to everyone. Keep it up Aneal...I would vote you out just because of your bad acting skills.
Apparently, Emmett and Jillian upped their showmance as soon as Jillian became HOH. Sounds fishy on Emmett's part, kind of opportunistic.
Funniest sequence in the episode happens when Peter heads to the Diary Room - in the hall he hears a voice coming from the funky moose head. Marsha is painted white and has gold glitter antlers. Oh my god, Gary would be so jealous. Marsha the Moose gives Peter a reward challenge. There are 3 quotes on cards which he must work into conversations with the other HGs. If anyone questions what he's talking about, he fails. As Peter goes to fetch the cards, Marsha says, "Hey Peter...what does the rest of the house look like?" The first quote is: "I have a rash in a really awkward place". Peter says this to Talla (as a possible reaction to the slop), who now thinks Peter's balls are inflamed. Great. She offers him an ointment. The second one is: "A woman knows the face of the man she loves as a sailor knows the open seas". Liza buys it. Maybe she was just being polite. Arrr me matey. The last one is: "The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool". He tries that one with AJ, but flubs it. Then he tries it with Andrew. Success. Peter goes to Marsha who tells him the reward will come later - is the Moose just screwing with him? Oh and he is never to speak of her. Marsha also tells Peter he's cute. peter says he likes Marsha. Hey maybe Peter and Marsha will develop their own showmance. I hope we see more of Marsha.
Okay maybe that wasn't the funniest thing. What was really hilarious was Jillian confessing that she resisted kissing Emmett, because friends and family were watching. Hmmm. But apparently she didn't have any trouble screwing under the sheets or in the shower. She does know she's on Big Brother and not The Bachelor, right? Or is her favorite movie Pretty Woman - where Julia Roberts plays a hooker who won't kiss her clients? She does know there are about a million cameras in there, right? What a dumbass. Not to mention the fact that she's an Elementary School teacher. Nice example for the kiddies there Jillian. Good luck with future career options.
POV Competition. Gary Glitter readies himself with what else? Why glitter of course. Ah, the magic of glitter. He's "feeling blue glitter energy". He puts on warpaint. If only William Wallace had blue glitter, maybe he would have defeated the English instead of being dismembered and having his body parts spread all over the country. Well maybe there is something to it, because Gary wins.
There's a birthday party for Alec. It's not his birthday...it's a prank he and Peter have devised. Alec reveals his bromance/alliance since day 1 with Peter. As Alec says, "bromance before showmance" (refering to Topaz). Very interesting. He says he and Peter are the smartest people there. True so far. But what of Marsha, Peter?
Jillian talks to some of the girls, asking their opinion on who to put up as replacement nominee, a ploy to get someone, namely Danielle, to volunteer. Danielle volunteers. Tom mentions to Emmett that eventually he will have to drop Jillian..."Emmett's an honest person as long as he's thinking with the right head". Jillian talks to Liza...there should be a girls' alliance. "anything boys can do, girls can do better". Original. I was expecting them to sing "I am woman, hear me roar". Aneal has a talk with Her Highness Jillian and her Royal Consort, Emmett. He bring up the possibility that Jillian is being played. Jillian says, "Am I being played, (pause) Emmett?" Hmmm, interesting.
Marsha's reward for Peter and the HGs is a ski/hot-tub party with booze and macaroni - even for the have-nots. Suzette wears shorts. Yikes.
POV Ceremony: Gary Glitter saves himself and Jillian nominates Danielle as a replacement. Is she a pawn or will she get blind-sided? Good episode. The layers of alliances are being revealed. But we still know next to nothing about people such as Suzette, Andrew or AJ.
Current spoiler speculation is that Danielle will be the next HG evicted, based on the live feeds.
Episode 5: Thursday, March 7, 2013 - "The Aneal Deal"
The Week 1 eviction was just a kind of go-with-the-flow eviction. This week, we are going to see who's aligned with who, and who the "floaters" are.
So Aneal thinks there is a 90% chance he is out of the door. He's gotta do something quick. Meanwhile, Pete, Emmett and Alec meet in the supply room to discuss the girls' alliance that is forming - they have to nipple, I mean nip it in the bud.
Peter reveals that his alliance with Alec, called "The Shield" is half of the alliance with Tom and Emmett...called "The Quatro". Peter and Tom want to keep their advantage going and vote out Danielle. That way, Gary Glitter will have no one and Aneal will be eating out of their hands. They strike up the "Aneal Deal".
Danielle, Suzette and Gary are still believing that Aneal is out. Slowly, Danielle is starting to believe that something is up...but she does absolutely no campaigning. Bad move even for a real pawn. Gary is getting nervous about his alliance. he goes to Jillian in the HOH room - of course Emmett is there - and tells her that the HOH is supposed to be in charge..."are you in charge, Jillian?"
Last night, Gary rounded up the girls and had a fashion show. The guys watched as the girls and Gary walked the runway. Gary was in heaven. Alec drooled over Topaz.
Live Eviction Vote:
Alec Danielle
Tom Danielle
Topaz Danielle
Gary Aneal
Suzette Aneal
AJ Danielle
Liza Danielle
Talla Aneal
Emmett Danielle
Andrew Danielle
Peter Danielle
Danielle is evicted 8 to 3. Lots of tears from Danielle, Gary, Talla and Suzette. On her exit, Danielle says " Everybody had me believing it would be a clean vote. I think I played my best". She says she doesn't feel so bad about saying bad things about certain people in the house. The best Diary Room goodbye was from Peter: "Danielle, you're the first unofficial victim of The Quatro".
HOH Competition: It's an opinion-based contest called "Popular Vote". The HGs have to answer how they think the majority will answer, and those who answer in the minority are out of the comp. For the most part, the HGs do pretty well, so in the end it comes down to a tiebreaker. They have to guess the number of liters of batter used in last weeks Have-Not challenge "Batter Up". It was 3,690 liters. Holy crap...what schmuck had to mix all that? Tom came closest with a guess of 1,700 and wins HOH.
So at the end of week 2, Jillian seems to be the worst HOH ever. Thinking with her vagina. I am in agreement with Marsha th Moose...I really like Peter. Seems to be the early front-runner. I like Gary, but unless he really starts campaigning harder for a girls' alliance, then he will soon be gone. Probable nominees for eviction this week will be among Gary, Suzette and Talla...or Aneal as a pawn. Tom is smart enough to save Gary for the replacement nomination.
The HOH competition proves that yoga is an endurance sport. Apparently Jillian does yoga and it has paid off for her...she has "strong legs". At the end, its between her and Talla.
